Do I need to register with my real name and birth date?
Registering with your real name and correct birth date is important as it will allow you to participate in all of our events, official Beta Tests, activities and future promotions (for example, special promos sent to members on their birthdays). Please keep in mind that your birth date will always remain hidden and invisible to everyone. To hide your name, you can simply check off the box on your Profile page, under Edit.
Can I upload any pic for my Avatar?
No. You must either choose from one of the pre-selected avatars or upload a photo of yourself. Non-approved avatars may be removed. As a tip, look for a square picture of yourself if you want to upload your own personalized avatar.
Why is my Avatar photo distorted?
You uploaded a file whose dimensions aren't ideally suited for the space. Whenever possible, upload a square photo of yourself.
Where do I keep my daily training log?
Use the blog function (“My Latest Blog Posts”) found on your Profile page to add your daily workouts. Whenever you enter what you trained that day (exercise/sets/reps), just tag the CATEGORY as “Train” and you’re set. This way, when you or other members look for your training entries, they can sort it quickly and easily.
What is a Training Goal?
A Training Goal is not where you keep your daily training log. A Training Goal is a special feature found on your Profile page. This feature allows you to track your progress for a specific goal, like bench pressing 300 pounds or gaining 20 pounds.
Why is my Training Goal not showing up on my Profile page?
First, you have to “set” a new Training Goal. After you do that, click on the “View” link and make your first entry, with the date, etc. Only after you’ve made one entry will your Training Goal show up on your Profile page.
I tried to start a weight loss Training Goal but it's not working. Help!
You may be adding in the weight lost, not your total body weight. Try adding your body weight, not how much weight you lost. In other words, on day one, your weight might be added as 250. On day two, if you lost two pounds, you would enter 248 and so on.
Is there a database of foods for the "My Food Log" feature?
Not at this time. There are many websites with nutritional data for various foods, but they all have different numbers. You can, however, input and store your own favorite foods but you need to add in the macros yourself.
What can other members see on my Profile page?
One thing members will never be able to see is your birth date. This will remain completely private. Also, if you click off the option, they won’t be able to see your real name either. It's important to add both and add them accurately if you want to be able to participate in all future website-related events and functions. You can also make your blog entries, your Training Goals and your Food Log invisible (private) or visible only to your friends (friends only), or visible to everyone (public).
Who can see my Calendar?
You have a Calendar function which appears in your blue menu bar up top. You can add your own events and even invite "friends". You can also set your personal Calendar on your Profile page so that some, none or all can see your events using the for "Who Can See This?" feature.
How can I add videos to my Profile page?
From your Profile page, click "Videos" on the blue menu bar. You must create a Gallery by clicking on "Create new gallery" option. Name your Gallery, select a category for it from the drop down menu and then enter a description. After your gallery is created you can click on "add video". You have two choices. First, you can upload a video from your hard drive. However, to do this, you file must be in FLV (flash video) format. The easiest way to add a video is to embed a Youtube video. Simply copy and paste the values after the = sign from a Youtube link. For example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1x7zMVP4lw. You can then enter a description, click submit, and your video will be embedded.
How can I upload photos to my Profile?
From your Profile page, click "Photos" on the blue menu bar. You must first create a Gallery by clicking on "Create new gallery". Give your gallery a name, select a category for it from the drop down menu, and then enter a description. After your Gallery is created, click on "add photo" and enter a title for your photo. Then click on "choose file" and select the image from your hard drive. You may then enter a description and click "submit".
What is the "favorite" feature and how do you use it?
With "favorites" you can essentially tag a piece of content–whether it be a product, a blog, a forum thread, a video, and article or whatever–as something you really like. When you do that, it will show up on your Profile page, under "Favorites" (which you can organize by content Category) in the blue menu bar at the right. Whenever you see a piece of content, look for the word, "Favorite" and click on it. To remove, just click on the word, "Unfavorite".
How do I send members messages?
There are several ways but here is one the easiest methods: (1) go to your Profile page and up top, click on "Messages". At the top of that new page, you'll see a large blue button, "Send Message". Enter the info and you're set. If you don't know the member's name, another way is to do it right from that member's Profile page itself. Go to a member's page, and in the blue header on the right, you’ll find a button, "Send Message".
What does that red star in a circle mean?
Any time you see that next to your Message box on the blue menu bar of your Profile page or next to a post in the forum, it means something new.
Why do some member Avatars have a green circle in them?
Any time you see a green circle in a member's avatar, it means that the member is currently logged into the site. If you look at your own avatar when you're logged in, you'll see the same.
Can I send more than one member the same PM?
Yes. To send multiple members a PM, just separate member names using a semicolon (;). Or, if the members happen to be your "friends", you can can click on the "Friends" button and then use the "Add" feature.
Can I see who is currently logged in when I am?
Yes. For a specific member, you can go to that member’s Profile page and see if the there's a green light in the avatar. You can also use the "Members" feature in the COMMUNITY section. This is like the member directory. This feature allows you to look at all the members who ever signed up and also just those who happen to be online at any given time.
Is there a member Directory?
Yes, on the top right side of any Community page in the orange menu bar. You can see all the members (and sort through them) and you can also see who is online when you are with the "Online Members" feature.
What are "friends"?
"Friends" are those members who you want to have readily on hand. These are your best buds. We encourage you to make friends. Once you have friends, you can more easily send them messages. You can invite friends to see your training, dieting and even calendar events.
How come my "friends" don't show up on my Profile page?
You have to specifically those "top" friends who you want to show up on your Profile page in the "Top Friends" section. To do this, click on the "See All" link. Drag a friend's avatar from the Friend section on the left to the Top Friends section on the right and you're done.
