Memorial Day
Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for our fallen military personnel. I ask that you remember those who have fallen and their families. Even though it is really a day for remembering those who have fallen, I also remember my fellow veterans, active military personnel and their families.I hope everyone has a safe holiday weekend.
What are your plans for the weekend?
Fist Forward!

Good post Diesel. Most people get caught up in partying or vacationing this weekend and we forget what it really means. Much respect to all military personnel present, past and those fallen.

Great post....unfortunately too many do not understand the meaning of such holidays/observances and just find it another reason to have a day off from work and to party.
As for plans, nothing really just hit the beach Sun or Mon if its nice but its prep time so nothing crazy.

On Memorial Day I think about 2 of my close friends that were lost in combat. My friend Joel Baldwin was 37 and died Dec 21, 2004. Died from a suicide bomber in Mosul, Iraq.

Ray Border was also 31 and died Oct 19, 2011. Died from a roadside bomb in Paktika, Afghanistan.

I am very good friends with Joels brother, who was also a very good friend of Rays. I grew up through the military ranks with both of these guys.
I also think about my father, who served for 30 years.
I think about everyone we lost, those who served, and those who are currently serving. I have some great friends out there putting their lives out there for our country. I am thankfull for those who gave all. Please remember them all!

Jimmy,
I know there are no words that really offer comfort, I am sorry for your loss. I am sure they were great men and brothers in arms. May we never forget them and those who have fallen. I will think of them and pray for their families.
All my best to you.
Tony
